| This genus, Aubrieta is for the plant Aubretia (no typo, really!). It is an evergreen groundcover with small leaves and purple flowers. These make a nice splash of color in rock gardens, borders, or cascading down walls. Watering before and during bloom period is a must; becomes more drought tolerant later on. Cut back spent flowers, leaving 1/2, preferably 2/3 of plant. | ||
